Kenosha Creative Space, Inc. “Day of the Dead” Fundraising Event
(Kenosha, WI) On Saturday, November 5, 2016 between 5:00-10:00pm, Event organizers will be overtaking the alleyways bordering 5722 Sixth Avenue—future home to the Kenosha Creative Space, for the last fundraiser of the year! Food, Beer and Wine garden, Art and Music.
This event will feature the following events/activities:
- Inconsiderate Living (will be doing Grateful Dead covers including Mexicany Blue)
- Witches Community Pop-Up Dance
- Trio Alma Latina (Milwaukee Mariachi band)
- Day of the Dead Pop-Up Dance (Choreographed by Ajay Singh Bedi)
- Brent & Ellie Mitchell
- Community Drum Circle
- Stephanie Donoma and Israel Alpizar
- Finish with Mexican Themed Open Music Jam
Presently, the capital improvement proposal has secured over 80% of required matching funds to complete the interior rehabilitation of the building.
The funds raised by this event will be used to complete structural repairs, including plumbing and electrical upgrades on the building. We have been working with community organizations and now we are asking for your assistance to help us complete our goal for this community-initiated development.
About the Kenosha Creative Space:
The Kenosha Creative Space is a team project with participation from the City of Kenosha, the Kenosha Art Association ExposeKenosha as project manager and the Kenosha Community Foundation as fiscal sponsor and lead fundraising partner. The project is focused on the rehabilitation and re-purposing of a blighted building located at 5722-6th Avenue in downtown Kenosha, into a space to be used as a combined community center, makerspace and business incubator for creatives.
